Recently, more and more ball screws are used in a variety of machines to meet the needs of high-precision and high-performance equipment; Ball screw has become one of the most widely used transmission components. In the traditional machinery, the ball screw has gradually replaced the Aike female screw. Ball screws are usually equipped with preload to eliminate the backlash during mechanical operation, but if the ball screw is not installed properly, it will not run smoothly and cannot show its high precision.
1. Improper bearing installation
2. Foreign matter into the ball track
Processing debris into the track. If the ball screw is installed without a scraper, processing debris and dust will easily accumulate and block the steel ball track, resulting in poor smoothness, reduced accuracy or shortened service life.
3.Nuts over travel
If the nut is over-traveled, the return pipe will be damaged and dented, or even broken, which will cause the steel ball to not operate normally. Under such severe conditions, the surface of the screw or nut bead groove may peel off. The problem of over-travel is likely to occur due to the setting of the machine, the failure of the limit switch or the collision. To prevent further damage to the ball screw, it must be inspected and repaired by the manufacturer before reinstalling the ball screw.
4.Return Pipe damaged
If the return pipe is severely impacted during installation, it may become dented.
5. Screw is not concentric
If the nut housing and the ball screw support are not concentric, eccentric load will be generated, abnormal wear will continue to occur, and the screw accuracy will decrease rapidly. The higher the preload set on the nut, the higher the eccentricity accuracy requirement.
6. Improper combination of nut and nut housing
Tilted or eccentric installation of the nut will cause abnormal load, resulting in unstable voltage when the motor is running.
7. Damage to the ball screw during transportation.
